Employment contracts, workplace disputes and social security matters in Jordan, assessed through the documents and the actual working relationship.
Clear terms from the beginning
Employment arrangements shape everyday decisions about duties, pay, leave, working time, performance and the end of a relationship. When documents are incomplete or differ from actual practice, resolving a disagreement becomes harder for both employer and employee.
We assess the contract alongside records, correspondence and the working circumstances. An instruction may concern a new agreement or an internal policy, or it may involve a financial claim or termination dispute. Each requires its own evidence; the title given to a document does not, by itself, answer every legal question.
For businesses and employers
Support may include reviewing employment templates, policies, notices and arrangements for confidentiality or the return of company property. The scope is shaped by the organisation’s needs. A useful review also checks whether the documents can be applied consistently in daily management.
Before a significant employment decision is made, the facts, supporting records and necessary steps should be considered. This separates the management issue from its legal implications and identifies what needs to be documented accurately. Records should reflect what happened, including relevant correspondence that may not favour the proposed decision.
For employees and claimants
Prepare your agreement, pay records, notices, correspondence and evidence of the period worked, duties and payments. We review the elements of the proposed claim, identify gaps and explain which matters require evidence or may be disputed.
Some matters also involve social security records or claims. The relevant documents, authority and requested action then need separate assessment. A short website description is not enough to determine entitlement or a final calculation, because the underlying facts may materially affect the position.
End-of-employment arrangements
Settlement and release documents deserve careful reading before signature. The client needs to understand which sums and rights the document addresses, when payment is due and what signing may mean in the particular circumstances. Keep a copy of every document and do not assume that an oral promise is recorded in the written terms.
The discussion begins with a chronology and a clear objective: reviewing a document, considering options after a dispute or organising company procedures. Mention any notice or approaching date immediately so that the matter’s urgency can be assessed and the proposed work prioritised appropriately.
